For over a decade, Stan Hirschman has been solving challenges faced by emerging and rapid growth companies. With more than 25 years of hands-on senior management experience, he's been able to guide clients away from common pitfalls and resolve issues hindering operations. His seven years as vice president of the 396 stores of Software Etc. capped a retail career that included some of today's best known companies: Gap, T. J. Maxx and Banana Republic where he is credited with the successful national launch of that chain.
Stan also serves on public and private company boards, and is an advisor for other boards, believing that corporate governance clarity, focused management direction and sound strategic planning are essential regardless of the sector. He has practical experience implementing Sarbanes-Oxley internal controls and stays current with SEC reporting requirements. He is a director of Axion Power International and South Texas Oil where he also serves on the Audit and Compensation Committees. He is former chairman of the board of Mustang Software where he was engaged to develop and implement the planning and execution of a strategic initiative to increase shareholder value, where his involvement resulted in Quintus Corporation's acquisition of the company. During Stan's 15 months as chairman, Mustang Software's market capitalization increased from $19.5 million to $290 million.
His client list has included GameStop, Nortel, Earthlink, Dalrada Financial Corp., Aiirmesh Communications, Bravo Foods International and Retail Highway, one of the early online shopping consolidators.
Stan is a member of the National Association of Corporate Directors, the KMPG Audit Committee Institute and is a graduate of the Harvard Business School Audit Committees in the New Era of Governance. He is active in community affairs and serves on the Advisory Board of the Salvation Army Adult Rehabilitation Centers.
