Today - Randy consults with clients in the Washington DC area. He provides leadership in a company that provides highly modified vehicles for physically challenged veterans and others.
Recently he helped launch a new office furniture start-up in the Dallas area. His deep background in sales, operations, human resources and merchandising are key to the ongoing success of the concept. Randy was General Manager for Mobility Works in the Washington DC area. The company provides highly modified vehicles for physically challenged military veterans and other disabled individuals. Prior, Randy was a Regional Director for Dollar General. He was fully accountable for all operations of the business for 178 stores and 12 District Managers in Texas. And before that, as Regional Director of Stores for Movie Gallery, Hollywood Video, and Game Crazy, Randy was responsible for 278 stores, 17 District Managers that employed over 2000 team members in the Southwest.
For more than 17 years, Randy was the Senior Director of stores for CompUSA, responsible for 14 to 25 stores and over 2200 associates in the Southwestern U.S and Hawaii. Randy was accountable for total Sales of $650 million annually. Randy played a big part from the beginning in the growth of CompUSA. As one of the earliest members of the management team, he developed the Associate Interviewing & Selection training programs as well as Management Interviewing & Selection processes. He was instrumental in formulating the performance review programs. He participated in developing management assessment programs that focused on developing future leaders along with associate level development programs.
At Golfsmith, as a Regional Manager, Randy piloted the explosive growth of their retail superstores. He helped define the new store opening process and directed the development of new programs for merchandising and operations. Once again, his skills drove the development of interviewing & selection processes along with product knowledge and selling skills programs for the company’s associates.
Starting his retail career at Target, he held increasingly responsible positions including opening the first Target Stores in Arizona. Here his recruiting and training skills were honed on the challenge of staffing half dozen new stores... His 16 years at Target were critical to his future success.
Randy attended Morningside College and Briar Cliff College in Sioux City, Iowa. He currently serves on Mobility Medical advisory Board for the state of Maryland.
